Southwest Airlines and Technology Updates
Cancellations over the holiday season opened Southwest's eyes to the need for some updates to their Optimization Technology. "Company executives have admitted to prioritizing other things over investing in technology for operations [...]". Thankfully for their customers, it seems that the airline is back up and running at full speed, and is making the necessary infrastructure changes to keep things that way! Read more here.
Leadership & Learning from Craig
Well, we have encountered a huge turning point in technology as it relates to Artificial Intelligence (AI). ChatGPT is in full swing and rolling out with integration everywhere. Microsoft has invested heavily in it, along with integrating it with Azure, Bing, and other development tools. With its ability to write excel formulas and code for us, the future of automation takes on a new meaning.
I asked Bing’s integrated ChatGPT to define itself and this is the response it gave:
“ChatGPT is a chatbot that uses deep learning to generate text in response to user queries. It is fine-tuned from a model in the GPT-3.5 series, which is a large-scale language model trained on data from the internet. ChatGPT can interact in a conversational way, answer follow-up questions, admit its mistakes, challenge incorrect premises, and reject inappropriate requests.”
There is a lot more to learn on how to use it to optimize and automate our business processes. We will start building this into our communications and business strategy sessions over the next year for sure.
