Leadership & Learning from Craig

As anticipated, the adoption of AI in our world is here and being applied in all aspects of business.  With good technology advancements, there are also challenges that come into play.  We need to be aware of the negative aspects while we capitalize on the positive components.  Cybercrime and Scammers are using AI so please be cautious, use common sense, and question things that don’t make sense.

As we continue on this AI journey, we need to sharpen some of our other “soft skills”.  I ran across this article about increasing soft skills and your emotional intelligence levels to stay ahead of the AI adoption curve.  Here is a summary with a link to the full article.

In recent years, the concept of “emotional intelligence”—the ability to accurately perceive and manage your own emotions as well as others’—has gained a foothold in the C-suite and management. Numerous studies have pointed to the importance of displaying emotional intelligence in the workplace, and the Covid-19 pandemic only strengthened the case for it. Still, many corporate leaders struggle with emotional intelligence and other soft skills, like empathy. Increasingly though, some C-suite executives, managers and founders are seeking out soft skills through leadership training and other development opportunities. Leaders say that honing these kinds of skills may give executives a leg up in a future dominated by AI technologies.

I think the article highlights some great points, and as we adopt AI into our world, we have to remember to keep growing ourselves with these soft skills, leadership skills, and emotional intelligence levels.  We still need to be ourselves and include a personal touch, while letting AI increase our knowledge and sharpen us as individuals.

Action Item

  • Use ChatGPT or Bing for ONE THING you are working on EVERY DAY
  • In place of “Googling” something, make it a HABIT to ask ChatGPT/Bing

Thats it for now, just start using it ONE TIME per Day.  The power of One Thing will help you with this change bwe must all get used to, just like we did with the internet.

Enjoy the journey,

Craig C. Sroda
