Today, we’re diving into the exciting new changes in Microsoft Copilot as part of its Wave 2 release. These updates span across Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and more, bringing new capabilities for Copilot agents and pages. Let’s explore what these changes mean for you and how you can make the most of them.
One of the first big changes is the rebranding of the Copilot chat experience to BizChat. While the core functionality remains the same, BizChat aims to streamline how you generate and share ideas with colleagues. To bridge the gap between idea generation and collaboration, Copilot Pages has been introduced. This feature allows you to create digital pages from your Copilot ideas, which can then be shared and refined within other apps.
Outlook users will be pleased to know that Copilot can now prioritize your inbox. This means Copilot will categorize and summarize emails, highlighting the most important ones. You can even set rules to ensure high-priority emails from key contacts are always at the top.
Creating presentations in PowerPoint just got easier with the new Narrative Builder. This tool helps you organize and draft specific slides, integrating with Microsoft Designer to bring in AI-generated images and company-branded templates. No more standard templates—Copilot can now use your custom templates to create professional slide decks.
In Word, Copilot can now reference multiple sources to create documents, including meeting notes and previous templates. This makes document creation more efficient and tailored to your needs. Excel users will be excited to hear that Copilot has reached general availability, with new capabilities like understanding text in rows and integrating Python for advanced data analysis.
Microsoft Teams has also seen improvements, particularly in meeting recaps. Copilot can now access chat conversations and meeting notes, providing a more comprehensive recap. Additionally, you can now build your own Copilot agents without writing a single line of code, using SharePoint sites as a data source.
